Katie McCool is preparing to dog her next stage role.
The West Michigan actress will star in the title role of Central Park Players’ production of playwright A.R. Gurney’s comedy “Sylvia.”
The lead character, Sylvia, is a mixed Labrador/poodle who inserts herself into the relationship of Greg and Kate, a married Manhattan couple whose children are grown and gone. They struggle with the upheavals of open-nest syndrome, among other things, and Sylvia makes thing even more interesting.
Director Peter Drost’s cast also includes Joe Carmolli as Greg, Jennifer Christman as Kate, and Kristopher Arnold as Tom, Phyllis and Leslie.
Drost is being assisted by Gretchen Fields. The show’s producer is Barb DeVries.
“Sylvia” will run May 10-12, 17 and 18 at the Grand Haven Community Center.
