Central Park Players’ A Delicate Ship, written by Anna Ziegler, opens March 1 and runs through the 9th, at the Grand Haven Community Center.
The basic story focuses on three friends, Sarah (played by Robin Willi), a social worker with who attributes her being single in her mid-30s to not being very social and Sam (played by Will Damian), a philosophical paralegal with songwriter-musician ambitions, with whom Sarah is in what promises to be a long-term relationship. They are joined by Nate (played by Kurt McCool), the charming but unhappy childhood friend who grew up in the Brooklyn apartment above Sarah.
The action takes place on Christmas Eve, when Sarah and Sam are celebrating like New Yorkers: flirting over wine and debating the nature of existential suffering. Then there is knock on the door, and Nate stands at the threshold. A kaleidoscopic look at one night in New York City that changes the lives of three people forever.
