MCC’s Overbrook Players are going ‘HOME FOR THE HOLI-DAZED!’

The Overbrook Players at Muskegon Community College are getting into holiday spirit with “Home for the Holi-dazed,” a comedy revue running at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28 through Dec. 1 in Overbrook Theater on the MCC campus, 221 S. Quarterline, “HOME FOR THE HOLI-DAZED!” is a skewed view on the usual holiday happenings.

Family dinners, celebrations, relationships, shopping, gift-giving, holiday traditions, final exams and more will be targets of this improvised sketch comedy show.

If you are not a fan of the forced frivolity of the holiday season, this show is for you; no one will be spared, no subject is taboo. MCC is calling the show, “a perfect send-off to get you in the proper holiday mood.”

“HOME FOR THE HOLI-DAZED!” is rated PG for language and content.

The show has been developed by director Tom Harryman and MCC students Tiffany Bartlett, Molly Veenstra, and Steven Wieschowski. It borrows styles from “Saturday Night Live,” The Second City and “Whose Line is it, Anyway?”

The performers include MCC students Cole Halterman, Isaac Hunter, Willie Jones II, Melanie Lamrock, Brandon Lemieux, Ashley Poling, Joshua Powles, Katrina Smith, Olyvia Staples, Rachel Wade and Brody Yarian.

Harryman is also designing the set and sound. Assisting him for the show are MCC student director and stage manager Nathanuel (Shonie) Anguiano, lighting designer Jim Allen, video designer Eric Taylor, and costume designer Susan Eyler.
