The Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company will bring its production of Shakespeare’s
King Lear to Seven Steps Up, 116 South Jackson in Spring Lake, for one day only, December 3 at 3:00 p.m.
follows the title character as he attempts to divide his kingdom among his
three daughters. After he banishes the youngest daughter, he discovers that the other two do not intend to care for him in his old age in the way that he had hoped. Jealousy and ambition make this family drama play out on an epic scale.
Actor Scott Wright plays King Lear in this production directed by Pigeon Creek Executive
Director Katherine Mayberry. The cast also includes Kate Bode, Kimberlee Griggs, Kat Hermes, Maggie Hinckley, Scott Lange, Micah Mabey, Eric Orive, Tony Peraino, Sarah Stark, Kate Tubbs, and Riley VanEss. Several of the cast are brand new to Pigeon Creek’s productions.
This production has also played at the Sauk Theater in Jonesville and the Dog Story Theater in Grand Rapids. It will make a final appearance at the Jenison Center for the Arts on December 9.
Tickets to the Seven Steps Up performance are $14 for adults and $7 for students and
