Grand Haven’s Central Park Players will hold auditions for its fall musical, “Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka,” Sunday and Monday August 14 and 15 at the Grand Haven Community Center, 421 Columbus Ave. in Grand Haven. Registrations begin at 6:30 and the auditions run from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.
The musical follows the adventures of Charlie Bucket, one of the lucky children chosen to visit Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory. This adaptation of Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale brings some of your favorite characters from the motion picture, to the stage.
Director by Trudi Kerkstra and music director Karen Frederiksen ask that those interested in auditioning bring a one minute prepared song. You may or bring sheet music or recorded accompaniment, please do not bring a CD that has vocal tracks or sing a capella.
Choreographer Rachel Bethke also recommends that those who arrive at auditions wear clothes they can move in and shoes that fully fasten to feet. No sandals, crocs, flip flops or bare feet will be allowed onstage for the dance segment.
