Spring Lake High School will present a student production of the musical “Pippin” May 5 and 6 at 7:00 p.m. and May 7 at 2:00 p.m.
“Pippin” is a Tony Award-winning musical, music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson. Bob Fosse, who directed the original Broadway production, also contributed to the libretto. The musical uses the premise of a mysterious performance troupe, led by a Leading Player, to tell the story of Pippin, a young prince on his search for meaning and significance.
Winner of a number Tony Awards including Best Actor/Ben Vereen and Best Choreography/Bob Fosse, “Pippin” is an engaging and humorous look at human nature that is guaranteed to entertain!
Stephen Schwartz, prolific composer of popular musicals such as “Godspell” and “Wicked,” produces a score of unforgettable music that will have you singing them long afterward. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
